About Dos Lunas Matcha

Dos Lunas Matcha started with a feeling we couldn’t shake. After experiencing thoughtfully made matcha while attending college in Southern California, we kept coming back home wishing the Central Valley had more spaces that offered that same experience. We wanted high quality matcha, intentional drinks, and an environment that felt warm and welcoming.

The name Dos Lunas, meaning “two moons,” represents us as a mother and daughter building this together. The moon has always held a special meaning in our lives, the symbolism naturally became part of the heart of the brand.

Building Dos Lunas together has been incredibly special to us. While one of us works a full-time job outside of the business, we both pour so much care, time, and love into this dream whenever we can. Seeing something that started as conversations and ideas slowly come to life has meant more to us than we can fully put into words.

From the beginning, we knew we wanted to approach matcha with intention and respect. We care deeply about honoring the cultural roots behind it while creating drinks that still reflect our own community and upbringing. We want the flavor of the matcha itself to shine through in every drink, which is why every cup is whisked to order and made with quality ingredients.

We spent a long time researching sourcing before finding a Japanese-owned wholesaler connected to Uji, Kyoto - one of the most historic regions for matcha. Finding people who shared the same care for quality and tradition felt incredibly important to us and aligned with everything we hope Dos Lunas represents.

More than anything, we hope Dos Lunas becomes something that feels comforting and intentional. We’re so grateful to share this journey, and these drinks, with the place we call home.
